Confined Space Rescue Teams & Top Person Cover | UK Nationwide | INFRATEC

Standby Confined space rescue teams and top person provision for long term projects, shutdowns and critical works

When confined space entry can’t be avoided, you need planned, practical emergency arrangements — not just a document on a shelf. We provide standby rescue teams (supervisor + rescue technicians) and top person (top man) cover to support safe entry, continuous monitoring, and rapid response if things go wrong.
Aligned to the expectations in HSE ACOP L101 around emergency arrangements and planning.

UK-WIDE STANDBY RESCUE COVER SHORT OR LONG TERM

WHAT WE PROVIDE

Confined space rescue cover built around your job, your permit, your site.

We can support:

  • Standby Rescue Teams on site for the duration of entry activities

  • Top Person cover to manage communication, oversight and monitoring

  • Rescue Supervision and site coordination

  • Support with rescue planning and pre-job readiness alongside Permit To Work system

ACOP L101 is clear that emergency rescue arrangements should be assessed, planned and made available, the right kit and measures must be identified and ready for use.

TOP PERSON COVER

Top Person Cover - keep entry controlled and communication constant

On many sites, the "top person" role becomes an extra duty for someone who's already stretched. We provide dedicated top person cover to:

  • Maintain continuous communications with entrants

  • Coordinate permit interface, logging and entry control

  • Oversee atmospheric monitoring and escalation triggers

  • Coordinate with the rescue supervisor if conditions change

This supports a cleaner, calmer entry process and a faster, more organised response if an emergency develops.

HOW IT WORKS

Our Mobilisation Process

1. Scope & risks (fast) - Confirm task type, location, access/egress, foreseeable emergencies

2. Plan interface - Align rescue arrangements with your RAMS/PTW and site rules

3. Team & kit - Deploy supervisor + team members, plus top person if required

4. On site readiness - Brief, comms check, casualty handling plan, drill expectations

5. Standby during entry - Continuous monitoring, comms and rapid response capability

6. Post job closeout - Handover notes, improvement actions for future shifts
