About Us

INFRATEC-UK Ltd was established in 2013. The company was established foremost as an electrical engineering company with particular strengths in commissioning motorway equipment. 

Since then, the business has grown to be the leading provider of infrastructure technology services and provides a nationwide service for equipment manufacturers and the Highways England contract supply chair. 

In 2016, INFRATEC Training was created to build on this growing reputation and began delivering training services in a small selection of courses. Following a successful first few years, this has been expanded with training services now offered in Health & Safety, First aid, Fire Safety, Confined Space, Breathing Apparatus, Manual Handling, Working at Height, Pre-hospital care, Drone operations.

INFRATEC is an approved training centre for City & Guilds, Qualsafe Awards, IOSH and iiRSM with further accreditations in the pipeline. 

INFRATEC was one of the first UK CAA Recognised Assessment Entities (RAE 10625).

The company has also invested in high quality equipment to help deliver a varied range of training courses. This includes the latest firs aid and rescue equipment to a state-of-of-the-art mobile Confined Space Training Unit that combines both theoretical and practical aspects of training into a realistic training environment. 

A new INFRATEC Training Centre has been built at our head office at Riverside Industrial Park, Middlesbrough with classrooms, meeting rooms catering, welfare facilities and free parking along with a purpose-built working at height facility.

Kevin Hart

Training Instructor

Kevin has served 30 years with the fire and rescue service. The majority of this service being as an operational watch manager. He has been an instructor for 3years at Durham and Darlington fire and rescue service training centre, specialising in victim entrapment rescue, road traffic collision rescue, trauma care, bariatric rescue, breathing apparatus wearing and confined space rescue.

He has gained international experience from attending rescue courses at the International Centre for Emergency Techniques located at Tilburg in Holland.

Lee Bullock

UAS Projects 

Lee has been with INFRATEC since 2020. Starting his Career in Drones back in 2015 Lee has helped integrate drones and training into many industries including blue lights, chemical, oil & gas and many others.

Ian Dowson

Training Instructor

Ian is a retired fire service officer from Cleveland Fire Brigade with a vast amount of experience in industrial safety and rescue trainer and works mainly on our confined space, work at height and medical training programmes. In his spare time Ian is a keen cyclist and enjoys renovating old properties.​

Nathan Taylor

Training Instructor 

Nathan has served 14 years with Cleveland Fire Brigade.. He holds a Specialist Rescue Diploma in Rope Rescue and is the current Rope Rescue Instructor for Cleveland Fire Brigade.

As well as Fire Service Operations, Nathan holds Health and Safety, Fire Safety, Education and Training, Assessing and First Aid Qualifications and is currently studying towards his NEBOSH Diploma as part of his CPD.

David Rodwell

Operations Manager

David served 10 years with HM Forces, serving in Northern Ireland, Sierra Leone, Afghanistan, Iraq & Kurdistan as a specialist communication manager before joining the Fire Service. With over 12 years experience he has worked in Fire and Rescue operationally holding a wide range of national and international experience.

He specialised in technical rescue including Rope Rescue, Bariatric Extrication and Confined Space Rescue before joining INFRATEC Training in 2018.

Ian Brown

Training Instructor 

Ian served six years with HM Forces specialising in air and ground defence of NATO assets. He served in the UK, Falkland Islands, the USA, Germany and other European countries before joining the Fire Service. With over 26 years experience, he has worked in Fire and Rescue operations holding a wide range of qualifications. He specialised in Rope Rescue including Bariatric Extrication and Confined Space Rescue.

In addition, he has attended the Fire Service College gaining experience in personnel management and chemical incident management. Recent experience in the private sector and with Cleveland Police has extended Ian’s range of risk management skills.

Mark Taylor

Training Instructor 

Mark joined INFRATEC Training in 2018 after serving 30 years with the fire and rescue service. The majority of this service being as an operational firefighter. He has been an outdoor instructor/supervisor for 30 years at various climbing centres and specialises in confined space and work at height rescue, consulting for many industries throughout his career.
